Summary
December 2, 1851, the Coup d'Etat of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte was the second switch of the Republic to the Empire. A Mazamet wool industry cites the borders of the Tarn and Aude where the resistance was organized. It is made of workers, struggling for years against creeping degradation of their wages and living conditions, but also acquired a notable republican cause, as Dr. Decazis, also determined a fight that healers superstitions has to promote a democratic regime. The part of Southern France that acquired the socialist ideas was beheaded by repression. Imprisonment, deportations to Algeria or Cayenne were the lot of the handful of idealists who dared to confront the administration and the army of the new strong man. Closer to the events, tumult, crowd movements and expenses of the company, it is their voices that we hear through Remy Cazals.--
