The fonds consists of 489 files of documents (23 linear meters), the bulk of the documents dating from the years 1970 to 2002. The years as a fellow federalist activist of A. Spinelli and the establishment of the association 'Europe House Marienberg' in the Westerwald as well as his early writings and readings are also documented. His work for the idea of a united Europe since his early youth can be seen in all his activities both as a member of the ' Europa-Union Deutschland' (EUD) and of the 'Union of European Federalists' (UEF), as well as his work as a journalist, writer and author of numerous papers and articles. Of special interest are his albums of photographs, brochures, stickers, postcards, etc. of various European subjects as well as recordings of interviews, speeches and radio broadcasts. Also 148 publications, some by Claus Schöndube himself, were partly integrated into the library catalogue and some in the collection of documents 'HADOC' of the Historical Archives of the European Union. The documents are written mainly in German
