- Die zunehmende politische Bedeutung von ethnischen Konflikten ist von sozialwissenschaftlichen Modellen nur unzureichend erfaßt. Die Studie von 0. Schmidtke wendet sich in empirisch vergleichender Perspektive dieser Form der politischen Mobilisierung zu. Auf der Basis eines theoretischen Modells der kollektiven Identität, das Untersuchtingsansätze aus dem Gebiet der Sozialen Bewegungsforschung auf neue Art fruchtbar macht, werden die politische Dynamik und Reichweite ethno-territorialer Bewegungen in der modernen Gesellschaft analysiert. Im Mittelpunkt steht hierbei die regionalistische Lega Nord, die zu den iwesentlichen Protagonisten der tiefgreifenden Veränderungen zählt, die die italienische Politik durchläuft
